About

Luke's story.

There was a time when Luke had lost all hope. He was preparing to take his own life when a picture of his daughter fell from a shelf. That moment stopped him.

Looking back, Luke believes God intervened that day. What seemed like a small accident became the beginning of a new chapter in his life.

Just 1 week later, he was invited onto a film set. What he found there changed his life.

It wasn't just filmmaking that captured his attention. It was the people, the teamwork, and the shared mission. For the first time in a long time, he felt something he had been missing since his military service.

Camaraderie.
Purpose.
Belonging.

Everyone had a role. Everyone contributed. Everyone was working together to create something bigger than themselves.

Nobody expected him to explain his past or talk about what he had been through. He could simply show up, learn something new, build relationships, and be part of a team.

That experience gave Luke something he desperately needed: hope for the future. Today, he wants to give other veterans that same opportunity.

Why Light
Inside Cinema
exists.

We believe every veteran deserves the opportunity to find purpose, build meaningful relationships, and be part of a community that genuinely cares.

Unfortunately, filmmaking isn't an easy industry to enter. Equipment is expensive. Film productions cost money. Many opportunities require experience, connections, or time that someone simply doesn't have.

For a veteran who is struggling to find their place after military service, those barriers can make an already difficult transition feel impossible.

We want to remove those barriers.

Through Light Inside Cinema, our goal is to create film productions where veterans can participate regardless of their experience, financial situation, or background.

They don't need to know how to operate a camera. They don't need a film degree. They don't need to know anyone in the industry.

They just need an opportunity.

More than
making
movies.

We believe healing can happen through connection, purpose, and accomplishment.

Traditional therapy is incredibly valuable, and we recognize the important role it plays in mental health. But we also believe healing doesn't always have to begin with a conversation about pain.

Sometimes, it begins with someone handing you a responsibility and saying, "We could really use your help."

Sometimes, it's learning a new skill, laughing with people who understand you, or finishing a long day knowing you helped accomplish something meaningful.

On a film set, there's a mission. There are challenges to overcome, problems to solve, and people depending on one another.

For many veterans, that environment feels familiar.

Our goal is to create a supportive, therapeutic environment without the pressure to perform, share personal struggles, or prove themselves.

Veterans can learn at their own pace, discover what they're passionate about, and develop genuine relationships naturally through working together.

Some may discover a new career in filmmaking. Others may simply find a community they didn't know they needed.

Both outcomes matter equally.

How sponsors
make this
possible.

Sponsor a production

Producing a film requires cameras, lighting, sound equipment, locations, transportation, meals, and experienced crew members who can teach and guide others.

These expenses often prevent people from ever stepping onto a professional film set.

We want to change that by inviting individuals, businesses, and organizations to sponsor film productions that create opportunities specifically for veterans.

Rather than simply funding a movie, sponsors help fund an experience that could change someone's life.

Their support allows us to provide equipment, training, mentorship, and a welcoming environment where veterans can participate without carrying the financial burden.

Every sponsored production becomes an opportunity for veterans to build skills, form friendships, regain confidence, and experience the satisfaction of accomplishing something together.

Our mission

Luke knows firsthand how much 1 opportunity can change someone's life.

A film set gave him a renewed sense of purpose when he needed it most.

Now, through Light Inside Cinema, he wants to create those opportunities for others.

Our work is rooted in the belief that every person has value, every life has purpose, and sometimes God uses ordinary people and unexpected opportunities to remind us of both.

We aren't expecting filmmaking to solve every problem a veteran may face. But we believe having somewhere to belong, something meaningful to contribute, and people who genuinely care can make a tremendous difference.

We're not
just making films.

We're creating a place where veterans can find purpose, community, and hope for what comes next.

And sometimes, all it takes is 1 opportunity.
