Born in central California to Mary Lou and James Stanley Wilson, his father was an artist and visionary who created beautiful oil paintings and rich photography. However, his battle with depression and alcoholism left Mary Lou to shoulder the family's burdens. Her resilience became Steven's beacon of strength.
Steven's path led him to film school in San Francisco in 1997, where he discovered his love for sound. Amidst the responsibilities of family life, including marriage and fatherhood, he remained unwavering in his pursuit of his passions. His journey had its twists and turns, but his determination burned brightly.
The Universal Dream and the Challenge of Change
A pivotal moment arrived when Steven secured a job as an audio technician at Universal Orlando. Mixing audio for live shows in the park was a dream come true. The presence of children's laughter and smiles became its own reward. But then, the world was hit by an unexpected storm - Covid. The uncertainty of whether he'd get his job back was more harrowing than anything.
Steven did receive that call to return to Universal, but the joy was short-lived as he was eventually let go due to a mask-related accusation. It was a devastating blow, but it marked the point of no return. Steven had come to Orlando for a reason, and there was no looking back. He embraced his identity as an independent sound mixer, excited about the path ahead and the people he would meet.
